The only change is I don't have any magazines so I used an image that I came across while working on a college collage project.
Deception
From a distance you looked
so warm and inviting, calling
me to come and bath in the sun's
warm glow.
I could use the rest and the calm
that it offered, so eagerly I
went to lay claim to my spot
to refurbish my soul.
But what is this! you lied.
I can't lie here, I can't trust
that I won't get hurt.
I'll bleed and once I am down
I won't be able to get up.
I should retreat, find another
but maybe I could just get use
to the prick and the pain.
As soon as I read prick, I wanted to rename it to some guy's name...what does that say about me?
ReplyDeleteLove the poem!

ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture in part because I like fractals and geometry. You asked a great question on my Workforced blog, so I've replied in the comments. Thanks.
